- 8 new playable factions: Lithuania, The Teutonic Order, The kingdom of Jerusalem, Kiew, Ireland, Norway, The Prinicpality of Antioch, Mongols integrated playable

Maroslav February 02, 2009 at 03:11 PM | u have mabye 10000 downloads but i think lots of people instaled, tried it and uninstal because your mod isn't heavy but for you is too heavy create normaly mod.better i don't say no more.I don't know what is Vanilla, but creators of Rome total realism mod made good mod, you should inspire by their creation . Your mod is amateur.I like real games but your mod isn't. You add AI amries and money and u think that u made good mod for heavy strategist rofl . Bye |
Ford Prefect | Lol, now it is getting laughable. Of course, no one is playing our mod, everyone just downloaded the mod, then started it, and then they all uninstalled it. So, the mod is not heavy(though it has over 2 GB^^), it may be hard, pls. don't forget, that we are from Germany, so not everyone of us is able to speak perfectly English. So, the difficult of a mod is always subjective, if you think, the mod is easy to play, that's your opinion, I won't say, that this is wrong. I don't know, how much rounds you played, but I guess, if you play more than 100 rounds, at very hard/ very hard you won't say, the mod is to easy... Total Realism is a total other mod, like SuS, our mod is based on fun, their mod is based on historical correctness. But you're right, their mod is great! And we disabled the cheating of money for the AI, you can decide that in an event within the first 30 rounds. The spawn armies in the first few turns have been made, to make the AI expanding as fast as the human player. If you don't like the mod, you can say that, and you will not be forced to play this mod. iatrakism | The mod is very good - Some mods I`ve downloaded crush and others require much time to proceed from a turn to another and therefore are not well enjoyed. And there are others that I couldn`t launch at all!!! Moreover, the idea to put in historical elements and to give to the user the chance to modify the evolution of the game (by deciding whether to accept or deny mercenary buildings etc) makes this mod unique! |
Macrath May 03, 2010 at 03:26 AM | Great mod Very enjoyable, a few of the things i did not like was the fact that many of the nations you choose to play, start the game in the hole (meaning that unless i drop a good majority of my starting military ie. ships and peasents, the following turns i will lose anywhere from 1000-2000 florins.) I don't see the need to start the game in such a way. It does not make the game any harder, it just simply requires me to disband the Army of cogs and peasents that for some reason every faction starts with. Also some Factions seem to get too powerful too quick. For example i pick Teutonic order and within the first 5-10 turns Lithuania is already expanded to 7 or 8 regions and has 3 or 4 full sized armies while i am barely able to hold together 1 full army without going into the negative for income, and rebels also seem to be some of the most powerful factions espescially at the beginning when everyone has peasent/archers and just about every rebel city/castle has a full army ready to go Starting the Game as Ireland is fun but in the first turn you are already -2000 income, so you really don't have much choice, you can either build revenue generating buildings, but by the time the construction is done and you start seeing any increase to your income you will probably already have less then 0 florins in your treasury. Or you can simply disband the army of 5-6 cogs you start off with annd the massive groups of useless peasents and you can almost break even at the end of the first turn I dunno it just seems pointless to me, if you want each faction to be even right at the beginning simply do not start anyone off with any units, because lets face it giving players an army of peasents and cogs right at the beginning of their game is as usefull as throwing a bucket of piss in their face. Peasents are a waste of 70 or so florins every turn, they are useful only as fodder and they seem to even somehow fail at that task aswell. Why not start people with town militia or a couple spear militia or even nothing at all because that would be better then useless cogs and peasents |
Macrath | In my opinion the creators of this mod made some odd choices in terms of the way each faction starts off that being said i must also make it clear that once you get passed the first 20-30 pain in the ass turns the mod really comes into it's own. First off 8 new factions added to the game and the wait time in between turns is hardly increased from vanilla. Everything in the description of the mod is wonderful infact. Honestly it would take too long to describe the good qualities of this mod. To sum this game up... Every single thing that needed to be changed was changed, everything i would have done to improve upon the vanilla game these fine german folks have done. Yes the mod does need to be tweaked and altered in minor ways, but just like Vanilla if you can deal with the minor annoyances and dig your teeth into the meet of the game you will not be dissapointed. And unlike vanilla in this version the merchants actually serve a purpose Download this mod, play it, love it. Many thnx to the Schwert und Speer team for this wonderful mod, it is truly a giant step closer to what Total war should really be like PEACE! Macrath |
